9-1-1: Lone Star returns for Season 5 this fall and already promises to be a big one for TK (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos (Rafael Silva).

The season will chronicle their married life amid Carlos’ loss of his father. An image from the upcoming season teased trouble for the beloved couple.

In an interview with TooFab, Rubinstein teases a big rollercoaster for them, saying,

“I know it’s kind of impossible to fathom, but I think this is the biggest rollercoaster they’re going to go through in five years. It’s kind of hard to top everything they’ve been through, but trust me they do. I can’t say anything else or else Disney is going to send snipers and shoot me.”

No one wants to see Ronen shot, so we must take his word for it.

TK and Carlos have been through a lot. When they first met, none sought much from the other person. TK was an addict afraid of commitment, while Carlos was closeted.

The next several years saw them gravitate towards one another as they worked through their fears and started dating.

Season 4 ended on a high note as they finally married after living together.

Season 5 tests their married life, including what’s next. Getting married was pretty huge, especially for Carlos but this is just the beginning of the rest of their life together.

Ronen Rubinstein Shares What Wants For TK and Carlos In ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Season 5

Rubinstein is the biggest fan of TK and Carlos, and while he only brings the character to life, he also has some desires for them.

“I think kids could be a fun direction,” he says about his hopes for the couple’s future. “I hope we go in that direction,” he admits.

Rob Lowe has confirmed that the season will feature a train derailment for the major season opener.

“Well, just the scale and spectacle of the train derailment and the arduousness of shooting it . . . I love how big it looks. It looks like a movie. Yeah, I think people are going to be blown away.” he told TV Insider.

9-1-1: Lone Star will air on Fox on Mondays this fall. It will occupy the 8 PM slot left by the flagship series, 9-1-1, which currently airs on ABC.

Tremendous things have happened in the flagship series with regards to queer representation in Season 7. Fan favorite Evan Buckley (Oliver Stark) was revealed to be bisexual and is currently in a relationship with Tommy Kinnard (Lou Ferrigno Jr).

Rubinstein is bisexual, and when he talks about this development, he says it’s “extra cool” to have that kind of representation on such a popular show.

“To have that sort of exposure is huge,” he says. He couldn’t be more right.

A lot is coming for TK and Carlos, but we know they’re strong enough to handle it. Or are they?

We’ll find out come fall.
