Fan castings have always been a thing, with fans seeing the vision before the creatives do. Such is the case with Kit Connor, who has been rumored to be in consideration to play Hulking in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In all fairness, he does look the part. The character is canonically queer and jacked, qualities Connor possesses.
He appeared at 2024’s SDCC to promote his film The Wild Robot. In an interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz, he discussed the rumors that have been swirling around for the past several years.
“No, I’m not, not that I know of,” Connor said, answering the interviewer’s question about whether he was in the MCU.
One of the earliest fan castings included Connor and his Heartstopper, costar Joe Locke. They would play the iconic Wiccan and Hulking, the MCU’s first major gay couple.
“My friend Joe [Locke] is very heavily involved in Marvel and has an exciting project coming up,” Connor continued, talking about the half of the fan casting that has materialized.
Locke is set to play Wiccan in Disney+’s upcoming series, Agatha All Along.
“I wouldn’t wanna cramp his style. I think he’s gonna kill that, and I can’t wait to see that,” Connor threw his support behind Locke.
“I’m gonna leave that to him for a good long while, I reckon. But who knows?” he concluded, leaving the door open for a potential MCU appearance in whatever capacity.
Kit Connor Talks ‘Heartstopper’ Season 3
The much anticipated third season of Heartstopper premiers this October, and the show’s stars have teased what fans can expect.
“The characters and the storyline and the sort of topics that we’re discussing are maturing with the audience to a certain extent,” Kit Connor shared about his take on the season in the same interview.
“We’re discussing slightly more nuanced topics and slightly more difficult topics and slightly more adult topics. Still very much in that approach of Heartstopper which is optimistic,” continued Connor.
Locke has described the season as darker and more mature, which Connor echoes in the interview.
Heartstoper Season 3 premieres on October 3.
