Elite says adios with the upcoming 8th and final season. The iconic Spanish series took over the world when it premiered in 2019, and the desire never waned.
While other shows wait for years between seasons, Elite has been on time with its releases. Eight seasons in 4 years is not a minor feat.
Graduation — or annihilation — is around the corner as the school fights one final threat that promises to end it.
The trailer of the final season sees the show return to its form with sex, drugs, and murder that have been the allure since the first season.
Events are told non-linearly as one character dies, and law enforcement must unravel the events of the past couple of weeks to find the culprit.
While piecing together the list of suspects and their motives, the show dives into Las Encina’s culture of drugs, music, and sex as hormones go into overdrive.
The past few seasons have diverted from this format as original cast members depart, significantly affecting the series. Storylines that fans love have taken a hit, but the writers have risen to the occasion to craft new stories.
Joel (Fernando Líndez) first appeared in Season 7 and quickly became involved with several Las Encinas characters. He helped Iván (André Lamoglia) through two losses.
He also helped Omar (Omar Ayuso) deal with his trauma the best way two horny queer guys know would know how to.
The trailer teases Joel, taking center stage as he develops another relationship with the newcomer, Héctor.
Héctor (Nuno Gallego) and his sister Emilia (Ane Rot) are the leaders of the Las Encinas Alumni Association, and their arrival seeks to shake up the school.
Even with Iván back at Las Encinas from Parkhurst, he and Joel do not have the connection from the previous season.
The trailer teases more sex as Iván takes over as Las Encinas’ chief of mischief. He hosts several sexual partners with whom he engages in dangerous games.
Elsewhere, he hosts legendary parties whose main theme is sex and drugs.
Joel Takes Center Stage In ‘Elite’ Season 8
Like all seasons of Elite, a murder mystery is at the center.
The final season sees Joel expire, and the investigation into his death brings the red and blue lights back to the school.
His death has far-reaching consequences as his former lovers make it their mission to find out who killed him. Will they succeed when everyone close to him is a suspect?
With Omar back at Las Encinas, he is the only hope for saving the school, whose problem is embodied by Emilia and Héctor Krawietz.
Elite‘s 8-episode final season premieres on July 26 on Netflix. Watch the trailer below.
