‘Hollyoaks’ Happy Lucas Can’t Stop Kissing Dillon

Lucas looks at Dillon and smiles in Hollyoaks.

The Lucas (Oscar Curtis) on Hollyoaks currently is far from what we’ve known. Who could have guessed that he could be so happy?

After sharing their first kiss, Lucas and Dillon (Nathaniel Dass) are almost going steady. But before settling into their feelings for one another, Lucas is enjoying the moment.

The March 17 episode saw the boys spend some more time together. It didn’t end how it typically does, with Lucas saying something mean and storming off while looking like he was about to explode.

In one scene, they pull a Nick and Charlie from Heartstopper and can’t stop kissing, which is exciting for Lucas.

Lucas: I can’t stop kissing you.

Sure, you can, Lucas. You just don’t want to, which is okay. A few months ago, the thought of kissing Dillon, even when he wanted it, made Lucas lose his mind.

Now, of course, the ease with kissing can be attributed greatly to Lucas coming out and being honest about his feelings for Dillon and who he is as a queer person.

It has shown him that the world is not the awful, dark place Carter and his lackey had convinced him that it is.

We need to circle back to how happy Lucas was. He kept smiling from ear to ear as he gazed at Dillon, and one could almost hear him think, “Why did I not do this earlier?”

Lucas is lucky in more ways than one but having a boyfriend (though he does not like to admit to that yet) like Dillon. Being out and proud, Dillon knows how being closeted can mess with someone’s life and perception of the world around them.

He doesn’t push Lucas towards anything.

Dillon: And don’t worry. I’m not gonna tell anyone about us until you’re ready.

Lucas: Maybe I am. You know, gotta be ourselves, right?

This level of comfort allows him to hold Dillon’s hand in public. Oh, this calls for celebration — their first time holding hands!

Hollyoaks has seen several gay relationships throughout the years, but there is something special about seeing young boys discover and get comfortable with their queerness at a young age.

Having gay parents will certainly help Lucas’ case because he knows he will be accepted, and he did not hesitate to invite Dillon over. Ste (Kieron Richardson) was happy to see his son with someone and did not make a big deal of it — well, as little as a happy dad could make.
