‘P-Valley’ — Go ‘Down In the Valley’ Before Season 3

Nico Annan in Down in the Valley

P-Valley is one of the best dramas ever produced by Starz. Given the premium cabler’s winning output, that’s saying something.

It’s been nearly two years since we last explored Chaucalissa’s raw stories, but Starz has found a way to tide us over before the third season returns.

The stories in P-Valley are inspired by real people who live in the Mississippi Delta. Nico Annan plays the ever-entertaining Uncle Clifford, and Starz has recalled him for something related to P-Valley.

Down in the Valley is an upcoming documentary-style TV show that will illuminate the lives of the people it portrays.

The six-half-hour episode series hosted and executive produced by Nicco Annan will take viewers on a tantalizing tour of the Deep South, unveiling a complex South that is equal parts poignant, joyful, and magical.

The show will peel back layers into the real stories of the people down south with care, fun, and thrill.

Starz released the trailer for the show, which promises to be a fun ride.

If you thought Annan was fun as Uncle Clifford, wait until you see the man behind the character.

P-Valley doesn’t shy away from telling stories like they are and features some of the best gay characters and stories ever told on television.

It has earned the show great acclaim and its fair share of ire from homophobic viewers who miss the entire point.

Down in the Valley promises to explore the real lives of gay gangsters, on which Lil’ Murda (J. Alphonse Nicholson) is based.

In one scene in the trailer, a gay gang member is interviewed. It’s heartwarming to see him embrace himself to the point of hanging a Pride flag in his house.

There seems to be a new rendition of Down in the Valley that is different from Jucee Froot‘s in P-Valley, and it is already a banger.

‘Down in the Valley’ Seems Fun, But What About ‘P-Valley’ Season 3?

Well, the good news is that P-Valley Season 3 is in production.

The bad news is we don’t have a premiere date yet.

Production is in full force, with Deadline reporting several cast members have been upped to series regulars while new faces will also appear.

At this point, it is unclear what the main season arc is about, but given the explosive events of Season 2, we can expect more drama, machinations, and, of course, gay stuff.

Down in the Valley premieres on July 5 on Starz.
